Ask the Pastor : Christian Mixer and Discussion
Join us for a faith-based discussion exploring questions that you've never had the right space, or the right person, to ask.
Time & Location
Mar 12, 2026, 6:00 PM – 8:30 PM
Payne Memorial A.M.E. Church, 1714 Madison Ave, Baltimore, MD 21217, USA
About the event
Ask the Pastor with Rev. Melech E. M. Thomas is a welcoming, judgment‑free space to explore the Word in the context of today’s world. This is an opportunity to dive into the questions and conversations that don’t always fit neatly into Sunday service—the ones you've never had the right space, or the right person, to ask.
Together, we’ll explore the Bible, current events, and culturally relevant topics through a thoughtful, faith‑centered lens—grounded in Scripture and shaped by lived experience. The evening centers on an open, guided dialogue rather than a lecture, creating room for guests to share experiences and ask questions in real time.
There will be two topics to guide the discussion but all questions are welcome.
→ God's Sovereignty in a Sinful world
→ Women's Role in Christianity
We’ll close with a social mixer to continue the conversation in community. Come with curiosity, leave with clarity—and maybe a few new friends.
Note: When you RSVP, you’ll have the opportunity to submit a question for Rev. Thomas to answer during the event.
Dress Code: Casual
The Agenda:
6:00 PM – Doors Open
Enjoy light refreshments, grab your seat, and submit questions for the Pastor.
6:30 PM – 7:30 PM | Guided Community Conversation
Rev. Melech Thomas will get us started with some opening thoughts, then we’ll move into an open dialogue where guests can add their perspective, share stories, and raise questions. We’ll explore themes like God’s sovereignty in a sinful world and women’s role in Christianity, allowing the conversation to flow naturally between Scripture, lived experience, and the questions in the room.
7:30 PM – 7:45 PM | Open Q&A: What's on Your Heart
Use this final open question-and-answer time for any topics, follow-up questions, or ideas that weren’t covered earlier in the evening.
7:45 PM – 8:30 PM | Social Mixer
Keep the conversation and connect with others in the room.
